Season Prizes & Special Tourney's

Straight Flush has gone WORLDWIDE!  We are proud to announce that the SFPT is working with www.redbackpoker.com to allow our players to play against other bar leagues from around the World!

The December redback International was a huge success.  From the players' standpoint, it appeared that all had a great time playing in this setting.  Congratulations to Tami and Charlie for their cashes in this main event.

The Redback International started on December 11th at 7p.m.  When the tournament started we ended up with only 237 players from the United States and Australia.  This had a prize pool worth over $18,000 USD!  First place was slated to win over $5000!  we started out and of the 12, it looked like we were fairly spread out, based on how we signed up into the tournament.  There was a little chatter back and forth as we were all trying to find out where everyone was located...  Initially it seemed the play was relatively tight, with the excepption of James M's table where there were several all-ins right from the get-go.  It looked like everyone made it through the first hour break period, but we had several  players dwindling fast.  Todd S and James M both were below the average stack, but still alive.  at one point, Charlie M was up in the chip lead or at least in the top 5, with Tami C right behind him...

Zeke was hanging right in there, then all of the sudden, catapaulted into the chip lead with over 80K in chips.  Byt the end of the second break, we ended up losing several players like Gary, Bruce, Todd, and James.  One by one as time went  along, the US players were getting knocked out, but not without a fight or two.  I ended up falling in 103rd place, and I noticed that left Jesse M, Tami,  Charlie, Jim G battling for the cash.  Jim got knocked out, just as many players started paying attention to the Cash bubble.  Not sure what happened, but Jesse got knocked out in what looked like 38th place.  We had a huge scare when Tami raised, had one reraiser, and ended up getting all of her chips in preflop with pocket Kings!  However, her opponent turned over the Rockets.  The flop saved Tami when it showed the K, and her hand ended up holding up.  Previously, Charlie made a mental error by hitting the wrong button and calling a huge amount instead of folding and ended up losing most of his huge stack...

After a few hand for hand deals, we were finally in the money.  Just like any tournament, once players hit the money round, it got hectic.  I was scanning the four tables, and I must have counted 6-7 all-in announcements in the next few minutes.  Charlie ended up goin all in right away as well, and got taken out, leaving Tami to carry the SFPT to the final table.  After a while, Tami went all-in with KQ against 99, and the 9's held up knocking T out in 19th place.  All in all, a successful tournament, and a huge pat on the back for our two representatives who cashed.

Congrats to all of the finalists who made it to the RBI, and I hope we can do it again for February.
